Koji Mukai of Snow Man: “We Hope to Create a Fun Atmosphere with the Audience” – Dream Stage Play “Muromukai” with Longtime Friend Ryuta Muro Announced!
The stage play “Muromukai,” featuring Snow Man’s Koji Mukai and actor Ryuta Muro, will be performed at The Globe Tokyo starting January 27 next year.
These two, who have long led Kansai Junior and are affectionately known as “RutaKoji,” have realized their dream of performing together on stage. They have often said, “We want to do a stage play together someday!” Muro commented, “We’ve been working together since our Kansai Junior days, and I hope you can feel what we’ve gained from those experiences throughout this play.”
The content of the play is based on their daily lives, with the dialogue being mostly non-fiction. The character names and settings are the same as in reality, and it primarily features a two-person play. The mundane daily life of these two unfolds on stage. Mukai emphasized, “We will create a stage play that feels like you are peeking into our daily lives! It’s not quite non-fiction, but maybe middle fiction? We will bring you our usual selves!”
Their bond is deep; when Mukai’s joining Snow Man was decided, Muro was the only one he informed. In a variety show they co-starred in 2023, Mukai tearfully confessed his inner conflict about leaving his partner behind to move to Tokyo, drawing significant attention. Mukai called out, “We hope to create a fun atmosphere with the audience through our chemistry, so please come and see us!”
The Tokyo performances will run at The Globe Tokyo until February 11. The play will also be performed at Sankei Hall BREESÉ in Osaka.
