JO1 Overcomes Sound Troubles at the Japan Record Awards with Stunning Cover, Earning Thunderous Applause for Their Impressive Stage
On December 30th, JO1 appeared on TBS’s “THE JAPAN RECORD AWARD” and performed “Love Seeker,” which won the Excellent Work Award.
Before the performance, leader Sho Yonashiro explained the song, saying, “This song is filled with love, loved by love, and is a song of love,” repeating the word love. The hosts teased him, asking, “Is it okay to laugh?”
Despite some unfortunate sound troubles on stage, they showed their ability to cover on the spot and received applause. Their stunning stage made “mic trouble” trend on X (formerly Twitter). Praise followed, with comments like “Even when there’s mic trouble, they perform with an expression that says it doesn’t matter. No matter what happens, they give their all and captivate us in that moment. That’s JO1” and “Kono’s singing ability is amazing; you wouldn’t think there was any mic trouble.”
