The first time in about five years. The event took place at the “NEW BUND31 Performing Arts Center,” which has a capacity of approximately 2,500 people, and tickets were completely sold out. The two members, who have won a total of 30 music awards in the Chinese-speaking world and enjoy immense popularity there, delivered a passionate performance, reflecting on the past five years and overcoming challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic.

The venue was already filled with excitement before the concert began. When Keita Tachibana and Ryohei Chiba appeared on stage, the energy level soared to its peak as fans cheered enthusiastically. Tachibana, speaking in Japanese, encouraged the audience with “It’s been a while, Shanghai! Let’s just have fun!” to which the local fans responded with enthusiasm. Chiba expressed his joy by saying, “I’m so happy that everyone understands Japanese!”

Shanghai holds a special place in their hearts as the first city where they performed overseas. Since appearing on a local music show in 2002, they have regularly held events and live performances there. For many Shanghai fans, the concert was a nostalgic experience, with some attendees moved to tears as they listened to familiar songs.

The concert featured songs with the same keys and choreography as in the past, and included homages to past live performances. Chiba charmed the audience with his maturity, saying, “Just like fruit tastes better when it’s ripe,” while performing in the atmosphere reminiscent of their debut days. The group performed a total of 22 songs, including their debut song “Forever Memories” and popular track “Endless Moment.”

During the encore, a cake was brought on stage to celebrate Chiba’s 40th birthday, which he celebrated on the 18th of this month. Additionally, the release of a new album titled “Winderlust” next year and an upcoming fan club tour were announced, exciting the fans. The two members invited the fans by saying, “We want to come back to Shanghai with this album. Let’s meet again soon!”
