As soon as he appeared in a red jacket, Imaichi performed five songs non-stop. Following this, he greeted the crowd in the local language, saying, “大家好!我是今市隆二。我愛你 (Hello everyone, I am Ryuji Imaichi. I love you),” which sparked enthusiastic cheers.

The day before, Imaichi visited the popular tourist spot Shihfen and participated in the “Light festival,” writing his wish for the success of his Taipei concert on a lantern and releasing it into the sky. He also enjoyed a hot pot meal. During the concert, Imaichi covered the well-known Taiwanese folk song “Wang Chun Feng,” leading the audience in a sing-along, with some fans moved to tears.

This concert marked the culmination of his solo activities that started in March under the project ““R”OAD.” The event drew the attention of 10 local media outlets, and Imaichi answered their questions before the show. Reflecting on the end of his long journey, he said, “I want to savor the feeling of completing this long-lasting journey.” He also added a touch of humor, “I’ve visited Taiwan three times this year, so it feels like home.”

There was a moment of sorrow as well. Bassist Lawrence Daniels, who had been part of the tour, passed away suddenly on October 2nd. He was supposed to participate in this concert too. Imaichi shared, “It happened so suddenly that I still can’t fully accept it. But I don’t want to end on a sad note, so I will finish this tour with a smile.”

EXILE AKIRA, Imaichi’s senior and the president of LDH’s Taiwan branch, also attended the concert and performed “THROWBACK pt.2” with Imaichi. AKIRA praised Imaichi, saying, “I respect him as a peer of the same generation.”
