Snow Man’s Ren Meguro: “I am Greatly Inspired” by the World-Class Performance of Dodgers’ Shohei Ohtani at a Similar Age

Ren Meguro of Snow Man was chosen as one of “The Faces of 2024” by Nikkei Trendy, alongside singer ano, and attended the announcement event in Tokyo on October 31. “I am happy to be selected among so many people who have been active this year,” he expressed his joy.
At the event, the “Hit Products of 2024” were announced. The second place went to “Shohei Ohtani’s Sales,” referring to the surge in sales of official goods and personal items due to the outstanding performance of Shohei Ohtani, who led the Los Angeles Dodgers to win the World Series. Meguro was impressed by Ohtani, who captivates the world, saying, “Seeing someone around the same age being active is very stimulating.”

Meanwhile, ano candidly shared her disinterest in baseball, stating, “I’m not interested in baseball.” However, she acknowledged Ohtani’s fame, saying, “Even without knowing much, I understand how famous he is.” She also commented on Ohtani’s beloved dog, Decoy, who has charmed the entire nation, saying, “Decoy is cute,” indicating the widespread influence.
Meguro starred in the drama “The Beginning of the Sea,” which garnered significant attention this year. He also appeared in numerous commercials, reflecting, “This year, I’ve been entrusted with many roles as a brand ambassador and the ‘face’ of various campaigns.”

Starting from the 9th of this month, Snow Man will embark on their first-ever 5-major dome tour, and in February next year, the release of the movie “Trillion Game,” directed by Yoshiaki Murao, in which Meguro stars, is also scheduled. Reflecting on the period he took a break due to health issues this year, he remarked, “I want to make this a year where I take care of my health and face my body properly.”
